As of April 11, 2007, over 170 complaints have been filed with the BBB against this firm. Most of these complaints were closed "non-pursuable" because the BBB was unable to contact the firm. All known addresses for this firm are false. ***According to information received by the BBB, Liberty Financial and its affiliates promise guaranteed loans of up to $150,000 in exchange for fees totalling as much as $13,000. Consumers are instructed to send money to an individual located in Canada via Western Union; consumers note that subsequent to forwarding the required monies they do not receive the promised loan. ***Advance fee loans are illegal in the United States and Canada. In New York State a loan broker may charge a fee of no more than 1/2 of 1% of the value of the loan. Consumers are advised not to give personal information to random firms offering loans, grants, credit cards or unsolicited services over the phone.***
