Evaluation Conclusions

One Stop Senior Services meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.

One of the alternatives facing many senior citizens could be the traumatic process of relocating to a nursing home; a fiscally irresponsible move that most seniors do not want to make. Each year, over 3,000 vulnerable seniors are assisted by One Stop. One Stop offers four different programs: (1)The Case Assistance program is an on-site service, offering our clients assistance with some of the following issues: housing, immigration, legal issues, threats of eviction, prevention of unreasonable rent hikes and application for various programs such as SCRIE and section 8 to help alleviate housing costs. In all this program has assisted over 60,000 older men and women since it began thirty years ago. (2) The One Stop Support program which continues to be unique on the Upper West side in focusing on services for elderly abused victims. One Stop’s approach is to focus on the root of the problem to resolve the issue so that the seniors can maintain peace and security. (3) One Stop’s Care Management program provides in-depth services to seniors who are homebound and have exceptionally complex physical, cognitive and financial needs. (4) Our Financial Management program benefits seniors who are unable to go to the bank to perform their banking needs. It also assists seniors who do not have the capacity to handle their financial affairs and helps prevent them from becoming victims of financial fraud and scams.
