Last Hope strives to rescue abandoned and stray animals. The organization offers low-cost spay/neuter fees for dogs and cats at local participating veterinarians, low-cost pet vaccination clinics at different locations in Nassau and Suffolk counties, early neutering of all kittens and puppies as well as regular neutering of all adult animals adopted through their programs. Last Hope participates in feral cat trapping and promotes adoption programs that seek to place the dog or cat in caring, responsible, and financially solvent homes. The organization also conducts community outreach and public awareness campaigns to make the public knowledgeable about the cat and dog overpopulation problem.
