Brooklyn Botanic Garden (BBG) serves the community by displaying plants, practicing the art of horticulture, engaging in research in plant sciences and offering educational programs to children and adults. The organization runs a 52 acre preserve open to the public, offering sites such as the Osborne Garden, Magnolia Plaza, Cranford Rose Garden and Japanese Hill and Pond Garden. BBG also hosts events including Plants of the World, Harvest Fair, and the Chile Pepper Fiesta, conducts botanical research, holds exhibits that showcase horticulture, publishes a plant research journal and a series of horticultural guides, and works with public schools to provide a wide variety of programs for students and teachers.
