" BVSJ is committed to assisting military personnel in making a smooth transition from active duty to civilian life. Its stated purpose is to provide veterans with information to help alleviate some of their problems; to advocate to federal, state, and city agencies the immediate needs of veterans and to develop long range solutions; to assist with upgrading discharges, obtaining employment, housing, physical and mental stability and educational development; and to establish a hotline and center where veterans who have been mistreated or have problems can receive redress or care.
