The Arthritis Foundation, Northeast Region funds research to find better treatments and eventually a cure for arthritis. In addition to supporting arthritis research efforts, the organization also combats arthritis through involvement in public health partnerships, shaping public policy and arthritis-related legislation, and collaborative efforts with the general public, corporate sponsors, government entities, and volunteer organizations. The organization's comprehensive strategy seeks to improve all areas of arthritis sufferers' lives. By supporting research, it seeks to improve health care services, leading to a cure. Through public health communication it pursues raising awareness and educating people about arthritis prevention and control. The organization also works in the areas of public policy and legislation, seeking to be an advocate for people with arthritis, enhancing the benefits of public and private health programs.
