" The Center For Family Representation, Inc. (CFR) is a legal nonprofit organization dedicated to its mission to keep families together and to prevent children from entering the foster care system. To accomplish this, CFR works with low-income families involved in the child welfare and Family Court systems using an interdisciplinary service model involving attorneys, social workers, and parent advocates (trained professionals who have experienced the child welfare system firsthand and have successfully reunited with their families). CFR provides intensive case management services, preventive services, and training and technical assistance to help break the cycle of foster care and support vulnerable families across New York City. Through our work with the City of New York, we serve more than 2,000 families annually, with a total of 1,000 new families coming from Manhattan and Queens. CFR provides intensive case management, preventive services, and community outreach to improve the quality of services and outcomes for parents and their children.
