Evaluation Conclusions

Timothy Hill Children's Ranch (THCR) meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.

Timothy Hill Children's Ranch (THCR) works to provide children in their residence with experiences of learning and corrective experiences for patterns of behavior which are socially unproductive or destructive. The goal of THCR is to help children move toward a self-disciplined and self-directed adulthood. Timothy Hill Children's Ranch accomplishes this through its residential program, vocational program, adventure-based programs and campus ministry. Within the residential program THCR seeks to provide residents with the necessary skills and strategies to return home or learn independent living skills. The vocational program within the organization offers a wide array of job training for the residents. The scope of jobs available includes building maintenance, construction, vehicle maintenance, landscaping, horticulture, woodworking, and horsemanship and animal care. The vocational program also helps to coach skills such as interviewing, resume creation, time management, appropriate dress, and teamwork. The adventure-based programs at the Timothy Hill Children's Ranch is based on one of the core ideas associated with the founding of THCR: a place where boys could ride horses, camp, fish, and enjoy nature. Residents are offered opportunities to become proficient in horsemanship, roping, and general animal care. The adventure-based programs are meant to promote team-building skills and character building. The organization also has a Campus Ministry which is concerned with giving individuals spiritual direction.
