Safe Horizon is the nation’s leading victim assistance organization. They service over 350,000 people each year who have been touched by violence. Types of violence include child abuse, domestic abuse, and other crimes. Safe horizon takes action by providing practical services like a new lock, 24-hour hotlines, safe shelter and food, as well as supportive services like mental health counseling. Safe Horizon also raises awareness of issues of violence and abuse, its impact in the home, the workplace, and the community through speaking engagements, media outreach, and public awareness campaigns. Safe Horizon is the largest provider of domestic violence emergency housing in the nation. They operate a licensed out-patient mental health treatment program specializing in services for adult and child victims of crime and abuse. Safe Horizon is also involved with efforts to assist victims of the World Trade Center Tragedy.
