Roundabout fulfills its mission each season through the revival of classic plays and musicals, development and production of new works by established playwrights and emerging writers; educational initiatives that enrich the lives of children and adults; and a subscription model and audience outreach programs that cultivate loyal audiences. As the 18th largest not-for-profit cultural institution in New York City (and one of the largest not-for-profit theatres in the country), RTC reaches an annual audience over 600,000 and impacts over 6,000 students. RTC is a recognized industry leader with significant impact on New York City's theatre landscape. Roundabout productions have earned 29 Tony Award and 39 Drama Desk Awards. "

Programs
 

              
RTC's School Partnerships comply with federal, state and city arts learning standards, including programming alignment with the NYC Department of Education's Blueprint for Arts Learning and the NY State standards intiative. Our Executive Director serves on the NYC Department of Education's Arts Education advisory task force. RTC strives to use theatre to enhance teacher practice and deepen student learning. Planning begins over the summer, working directly with principals to set objectives and implementation structure. Once in the implementation phase, teachers and Teaching Artists meet prior to every classroom visit to continue tweaking objectives.
