The organization works to improve the quality of human life and enhance individual self-reliance and concern for others. The services are consistent with its Congressional Charter and the principles of the International Red Cross Movement. Projects include disaster services, armed forces emergency services that include counseling, information, referral and assistance with benefits. The American Red Cross - Suffolk County Chapter also provides international social and tracing services, health and safety services that include First Aid, CPR, aquatics and water safety, community health courses, HIV/AIDS education, instructor candidate training, nutrition programs (serves meals through Meals-on-Wheels programs), and community services.
