United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County (UCPN) operates numerous programs to help those with cerebral palsy and other severe disabilites and their families gain a better quality of life. The organization runs a Children's Learning Center, which serves children from ages 1-21. The students participate in art therapy, music therapy, adapted physical education and library, in addition to receiving related services. The Adult Day Treatment program serves individuals 21 and older who have a wide variety of developmental disabilities. The program offers leisure and recreation services, and provides a medical director and nursing staff, physical therapy, social work services, and music therapy, among other activities. UCPN's Work Center provides job training and paid work activities for its participants. UCPN offers medical services, such as primary care, optometry, neurology, dentistry, physical and occupational therapies, mental health counseling, and speech therapy.
