participate in one of the three BBB Customer Satisfaction programs -- Customer Commitment, Informal Dispute Settlement, and Alternative Dispute
Resolution. In addition to special handling of any complaints, these firms have agreed to arbitrate disputes through the BBB.
Arbitration decisions under Customer Commitment are legally binding on both parties. This gives consumers an extra "safety net"
when doing business with a participating firm. Businesses that participate in the Bureau's dispute resolution programs may use a
special BBB logo in most of their local advertising.
